Teaching Philosophies

Children are imaginative

I believe that children are creative and imaginative. As an educator, it is my responsibility to carefully plan and execute a curriculum that incorporates integrated, developmentally appropriate, and open-ended activities. These activities serve as pathways for children to explore, experiment, and construct their own knowledge.

parents are co-partners

Recognizing the vital role that parents play in a child's development, I align my practice with the ecological systems theory, as emphasized by Urie Bronfenbrenner. I encourage parents to actively engage with their children's learning and development. I facilitate various means of parental involvement. This includes regular face-to-face engagements and sharing updates on children through our Parent Portal. Parents are invited to participate in our festive celebrations and events as well.

collaborative community

Recognizing the importance of community partnership in early childhood education, I actively liaise with community partners such as the Active Aging Centre (AAC) and National Library Board to introduce the world around them through people from different walks of life and books. Field trips are also an integral part of children's educational experience, providing them with real-world contexts to apply what they've learned in the classroom and fostering a deeper understanding of the world around them.
